Welcome to the Popular Music Home Page

Bill Bell is a veteran of more than thirty five years in public education in Knox County. His experience includes work with middle and high school students in the Doyle (now South Doyle), Powell, Farragut, Gibbs, Fulton, and Halls communities. His band students have performed in most states in the southeastern region of the United States and Washington D.C. Granted the status of Master Teacher (Career Ladder III) by the state of Tennessee in the mid 1980's, he is also classified as Highly Qualified in the fields of performance and classroom music. He is certified as an administrator for kindergarten through grade twelve.

Mr. Bell designed and implemented the Popular Music course of study during the 1999-2000 school year. Now known as the "Development or Rock and Roll," the course satisfies the academic requirement for general music - a fine arts credit. Although many musically experienced students choose to take this course, no experience is required.
