GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Credit Requirements
 All students must earn Core credits in addition to completing a chosen path (University, Technical or Dual paths). Students must earn at least 28 credits in order to graduate.  Students have the opportunity to receive 32 credits while enrolled at Halls High School.
ALL STUDENTS are required to complete the following Core graduation requirements:


English:

4 credits

Mathematics:

3 credits (Including Algebra I and Geometry)

Science:

3 credits (one physical, one life and one of your choice)

Social Studies:

3 credits, (World History or World Geography, US History, and Economics/Government)

Physical Education:

Wellness


In addition to the Core credits, students on the Technical Path are
required to complete the following graduation requirements:


Technical Courses:

4 credits from one Technical Cluster (see course offerings)
Note: Keyboarding counts as one of these courses 

In addition to the Core credits, students on the University Path are
required to complete the following graduation requirements:


Foreign Language:

2 credits (Students must take two courses in the same foreign language, ex. Spanish I and Spanish II)

Mathematics:

University path students must complete math credits through Algebra II

Fine Arts:

1 credit

In addition to the Core credits, students on the Dual Path* are
required to complete the following graduation requirements:


Foreign Language:

2 credits (Students must take two courses in the same foreign language, ex. Spanish I and Spanish II)

Mathematics:

University path students must complete math credits through Algebra II

Fine Arts:

1 credit

Technical Courses:

4 credits from one Technical Cluster (see course listing)

*The Dual Path is a combination of the Technical and University Paths.

Tennessee Scholars Program
In addition to the Core credits, Students who meet the following
criteria may be awarded a Tennessee Scholars Diploma:


Foreign Language:

2 credits (Students must take two courses in the same foreign language, ex. Spanish I and Spanish II)

Mathematics:

4 credits (additional math credit beyond Algebra II)

Business/Computer:

1 credit

Technical Courses:

4 credits (If on Dual Path) 

Advanced Placement:

1 credit

Fine Arts:

1 credit

Additional Requirements:

20 hrs. community service
Overall ā€œCā€ average
95% Attendance
No Out of School Suspension
Pass state assessments (Gateway Exams)
